Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-02-08

1. Who we are and who is responsible for your data

Clawtica ("we", "us", "our") is the service that lets you deploy and use OpenClaw (an AI assistant) on channels such as Telegram, Discord, and WhatsApp with minimal setup. For the purpose of data protection law, Clawtica is the data controller for the personal data we collect and process in connection with this website and our sign-up, authentication, and deployment services. If you have questions about this policy or your data, you can contact us at the details given at the end of this document.

2. What personal data we collect

We collect only what we need to provide the service, run the platform, and meet legal obligations. Specifically, we may collect:

  • Account and identity data: When you sign up, we receive from our authentication provider (Clerk) information such as your email address, name (if you provide it), and profile picture (if you connect a social or OAuth account). We do not store your password; authentication is handled by Clerk.
  • Usage and product data: We may collect information about how you use Clawtica (e.g. that you connected a channel, deployed OpenClaw, or used certain features) in order to operate, improve, and secure the service.
  • Technical and device data: When you visit our website or use our service, we may automatically collect your IP address, browser type and version, device type, operating system, referring URLs, and similar technical data. We may use cookies and similar technologies as described in Section 7.
  • Communications: If you contact us (e.g. by email or a contact form), we keep the content of your message and your contact details so we can respond and, where relevant, keep a record of the enquiry.

3. How we use your personal data

We use your data only for the following purposes:

  • To create and manage your account and authenticate you.
  • To provide the Clawtica service (e.g. deploying and connecting OpenClaw to your chosen channels).
  • To communicate with you about your account, the service, security issues, or important changes to our terms or this policy.
  • To operate, improve, and secure our website and platform (including troubleshooting, analytics, and preventing abuse).
  • To comply with applicable laws, regulations, or lawful requests from authorities.
  • To establish, exercise, or defend our legal rights where necessary.

We do not sell your personal data. We do not use your data for advertising or to build advertising profiles.

4. Legal basis for processing (EEA/UK)

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process your personal data on the following bases:

  • Contract: Processing necessary to perform our contract with you (e.g. providing the Clawtica service and managing your account).
  • Legitimate interests: Processing necessary for our legitimate interests (e.g. security, fraud prevention, improving the service, analytics) where those interests are not overridden by your rights.
  • Legal obligation: Processing necessary to comply with applicable law.
  • Consent: Where we ask for your consent (e.g. for optional cookies or marketing), you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of processing before withdrawal.

5. Who we share your data with

We may share your personal data only in the following circumstances:

  • Authentication provider (Clerk): We use Clerk to handle sign-up, sign-in, and account management. Clerk processes your email and identity data in accordance with their privacy policy. We recommend reviewing Clerk's privacy policy.
  • Hosting and infrastructure: Our website and backend may be hosted on third-party providers (e.g. Vercel or similar). These providers process data on our instructions and in line with their data processing terms.
  • Channels you connect (Telegram, Discord, WhatsApp, etc.): When you connect OpenClaw to a channel, that platform's own terms and privacy policies apply to the data that flows through them. We do not control how those platforms use data.
  • Legal and safety: We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of Clawtica, our users, or the public.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal data to third parties for marketing.

6. How long we keep your data

We retain your personal data only for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes set out in this policy. In particular:

  • Account data: For the duration of your account and for a reasonable period after you close it (e.g. for support, legal, or accounting purposes), after which we delete or anonymise it.
  • Usage and technical data: For as long as needed to operate and improve the service and for security and legal compliance; we may anonymise or aggregate such data for analytics.
  • Communications: For as long as needed to handle your enquiry and any follow-up, and for a limited period for record-keeping where relevant.
  • Legal obligation: Where the law requires us to keep certain data (e.g. for tax or legal claims), we retain it for the required period.

7. Cookies and similar technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies (e.g. local storage) to:

  • Keep you signed in and remember your preferences (strictly necessary and functional).
  • Understand how the site is used (e.g. analytics) so we can improve it.

Where we use non-essential cookies (e.g. analytics), we will seek your consent where required by law. You can change your cookie preferences in your browser settings. Blocking certain cookies may affect how the website or service works.

8. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the following rights in relation to your personal data:

  • Access: To obtain a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
  • Rectification: To have inaccurate personal data corrected.
  • Erasure: To request deletion of your personal data in certain circumstances (e.g. where we no longer need it or you withdraw consent).
  • Restriction: To request that we restrict processing in certain situations.
  • Data portability: To receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format where the processing is based on contract or consent.
  • Object: To object to processing based on legitimate interests, including profiling.
  • Withdraw consent: Where we rely on consent, to withdraw it at any time.
  • Complain: To lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority (e.g. in your country of residence).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 11. We will respond within the time required by applicable law. You can also manage or delete your account and associated data through your account settings or by contacting us.

9. International transfers

Your data may be processed in countries outside your country of residence (including the United States), where data protection laws may differ. Where we transfer data from the EEA or UK to a country not recognised as providing adequate protection, we put in place appropriate safeguards (e.g. standard contractual clauses or equivalent mechanisms) as required by law.

10. Children

Our service is not directed at children under 16 (or the applicable age of consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and change the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we may notify you by email or through the service. We encourage you to review this policy periodically.
